Michael Allcock has worked as a writer, director, and story editor on over 50 documentary films and series, including Fear of Dancing (Gem), Kubo’s Crickets (Bravo), An Optimist’s Guide to the Planet (Crave), Semisweet: Life in Chocolate (TVO), Final 24 (A&E), Vimy Ridge: Heaven to Hell (History), and From the Vaults (CBC). Over the course of his wide-ranging career, he has been nominated and won multiple awards for his work—including winning the 2024 Canadian Screen Award for Best Writing, Factual, for the hit series Thunder Bay (Crave). More recently he has received a 2026 Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Writing, Factual, for the series Investigation: Shark Attack (National Geographic).
